Development Campus Stefilm Development Campus is a documentary film training course. It is aimed at teaching the methods of developing and realizing a project. 20 young writers and filmakers chosen from a selected group are given the chance to develop one or more documentary films under the guidance of a team of experts.
The Campus is split into two phases. The phase one lasts approximately five months, during which time participants attend four three-day workshops aimed at helping them acquire development and writing techniques. Between workshops the participants are guided by a tutor with the help of a specific internet site. Phase two concentrates on production itself and the realization of short documentaries, which are then pieced together to form a series ready to be distributed.
During the year participants acquire specific development and production skills and learn more about the creative and production requirements of the national and international markets. The Stefilm Development Campus therefore provides participants with the necessary tools to be able to work autonomously, aware of the problems that may crop up during any part of the production cycle – from the development to realization phase.
